Welcome to Flowie (“we,” “our,” or “us”). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you have a secure experience when using our mobile application, Flowie: Notes, Tasks & Progress Tracker (the “App”).

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use Flowie. Please read this policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this privacy policy, please do not access the App.

1. Information We Collect

A. Data You Provide Directly

  • Notes and Tasks: Any text, titles, checklists, or reminders you create in the App are processed to provide the core note-taking and task-tracking functionality.
  • Voice and Audio Recordings: When you use the Voice Notes feature, we access your device’s microphone to record audio files.

B. Device Permissions Requested

To provide our core features, the App requests access to the following device functions:

RECORD_AUDIORequired to capture and record voice notes.
STORAGEREAD/WRITE storage to save tasks and audio files locally.
POST_NOTIFICATIONSRequired to deliver reminders and progress alerts.

C. Automatically Collected Data

We do not collect any personal identifying information automatically. We do not use tracking cookies, and the App is designed to run locally first without requiring account registration.

2. How We Use and Process Your Information

Flowie is built as a local-first application.

  • On-Device Processing & Storage: Your notes, tasks, progress logs, and audio recordings are stored locally on your device using secure local storage.
  • AI Transcription & Analysis: To generate AI-powered summaries, extract key action items, and transcribe voice notes, the App transmits the relevant note text or audio files to the Google Gemini API (Generative Language API). This processing is transient and done solely to deliver these AI features.

3. Data Sharing and Third-Party Services

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal data to third parties. We only transmit data to third-party services necessary to provide the App’s features:

  • Google Gemini API: Note contents and audio recordings are sent to Google's Generative Language API for speech-to-text translation, summaries, and text improvement. Data transmitted to the Gemini API is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Google Play Services (Android only): The App uses Google Play Services for core application performance, distribution, and updates.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

  • Local Data: Because your data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it. You can modify or delete notes and tasks at any time. Uninstalling the App will delete all locally stored notes, tasks, and audio files.
  • AI Processing Data: We do not retain copies of the data sent to the Gemini API on any external server under our control.

5. Security of Your Information

We use industry-standard security measures on your device to protect your local data. However, please remember that no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We encourage you to secure your physical device with passwords or biometrics.

6. Children's Privacy

Our App is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it immediately.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
